Next Steps
Here is exactly what to expect from our first chat to the final export.
Tell me about your project
Send a message through the contact form, email or DM me on X, Discord, or Slack. whatever's easiest for you.
It helps if you include:
- A link to your channel or brand
- What you're after (e.g handing the editing off completely, plugging into your team and pipeline, or editing YouTube performance in mind)
- Any raw ideas, requirements, or open questions.
If you haven't got it all figured out yet, that's fine. We'll shape the full picture together in the next step over chat or a call (whichever you prefer).
You'll hear back within 24 hours (except Sunday).
Agreeing on the details
We'll have a quick call or chat to make sure we're a good fit. Then we'll pin down exactly what you need: the scope, timeline, and pricing. Everything's clear upfront, so there are no surprises halfway through.
From there, you choose how we begin:
- Trial edit: A short, paid first video at a discounted rate. It's a low-risk way for both of us to see how we work together before committing to something bigger.
- Full project: Already sure? We go straight into your main project.
Sending your footage
Once the details are locked, send over your raw footage along with any brand assets, like logos, fonts or brand guidelines. Use whatever file sharing method is easiest for you (e.g Google Drive).
Your first draft usually arrives within 2 to 3 days, depending on the size of the project. We'll confirm the exact turnaround in the planning step.
Watching your first draft
You'll get a Frame.io preview link to review the cut. Watch the video and leave your notes at the exact timestamp where you want a change.
If you or your team already use a different review tool just let me know. I'm happy to adapt.
Fine-tuning the edit
Every project includes two rounds of revisions. To keep things moving, try to gather all your notes in one pass so each round makes real progress on the edit. I'll work through your notes, make the changes, and send the updated cut back for another look.
Simple notes usually come back within a few hours and more complex ones within a day or two.
Receiving your final files
Once the final cut is approved and the invoice is settled, I'll send over the full-resolution, unwatermarked files. I usually deliver them via Google Drive or via whichever cloud provider you prefer.
Settling into a rhythm
Your first video is done! If it went well, we can keep going. The better I know your style and your audience, which means less back and forth, quicker turnarounds, and smoother invoicing.
Here's how that can look:
- Monthly retainer: Best if you publish regularly. You get a stable rate (sometimes a better one) and a spot in my schedule reserved for you each month.
- Project by project: No commitment. Come back whenever you have something new.
- Something custom: If neither fits, we'll build a plan around your schedule.
