FAQ
Quick answers to common question
Getting started
Not much. A link to your channel and a rough idea of what you need is plenty.
If you have reference videos or a style guide, send them over, since they help me get the first draft closer.
Footage can wait until we’ve agreed on the details.
I'll get back to you within 24 hours. From there, we'll have a brief call or message exchange (in whichever platform you prefer) to agree on the scope, price, and timeline. Nothing starts until everything is cleared.
For a full walkthrough, check out the Next Steps page.
Usually, yes. Send me a few videos you like, or your latest upload, and I'll study the pacing, cuts, captions, and sound.
The first draft shows how close I've got and we refine from there. If your style is outside what I do well I'll tell you before we start.
Absolutely. I would love to help you find your channel unique visual style.
This goes beyond standard editing because it involves creative strategy, so it's scoped and priced as a separate project. Tell me what you have in mind and we'll work out a plan.
Yes. I'm your point of contact from start to finish, and I edit most projects myself.
During busy periods or tight deadlines I occasionally bring in a small group of editors from my network.
Either way, I personally review and quality check every video before it reaches you.
Working together
Whatever works for you. I'm happy to use Discord, Slack, or even plain email or integrate into your custom pipeline and team setup if you have one.
No, and nobody honest can. What I can do is shape the hook and pacing around your audience and explain my choices so you can see the thinking behind the cut.
Tell me how many videos you need per week or month and I'll be upfront about what I can handle.
The goal is for you to focus on making content instead of juggling several editors. If you want something steady we can set up a fixed package with a set number of videos per week or month.
Agencies and studios
Yes. I can work under your brand, follow your style guides, and fit into your existing pipeline. You can find more details on the agency page.
Yes. I adapt to your pipeline, not the other way around. I strictly follow your folder structures, file naming rules, and software preferences so your internal process doesn't have to change.
Yes. Send yours over before we start and I'll sign it. Your footage, scripts, and unreleased content stay private.
It's flexible and agreed upfront. That could be per video or a fixed monthly package, whichever suits how you work.
The trial edit
A paid, discounted first video priced per video. It's the lowest risk way to see how we work together before committing to more.
Usually one minute, which keeps the cost down and still shows you what to expect.
If your video needs more room to show the work we can extend it.
Yes. You can choose any part of your footage for me to focus on. It doesn't just have to be the intro.
Because it's a fully polished piece of work. You get the exact same quality and attention to detail I deliver on standard projects. The discount lowers your upfront risk, but the work itself isn't scaled back.
No. You're entirely welcome to skip the trial and jump straight into a full video.
That's up to you. If you like it, we can move on to a full video or a package. If not, there's no obligation.
Pricing and payment
It depends on the length of your video and how much work it needs. I'll provide a custom quote after we discuss your needs and the price is always locked in before any work begins.
Yes. Monthly packages work well for a steady workload for example 2 videos a week or 10 a month.
Knowing your volume ahead of time lets me plan my schedule around it and ensures you never miss a deadline.
I take a 50% deposit upfront. Once the edit is finished, I'll send a watermarked version for you to review.
After you approve it and the remaining 50% is paid I'll deliver the unwatermarked high-res video and any related assets.
Yes, once we've completed a few projects together.
After that, we can easily switch to a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly invoicing schedule to simplify things for your accounting.
No. The quoted price is the final price unless the scope of the project changes, which we would always discuss first. Two things are optional extras:
- a 24-hour rush turnaround
and
- revision rounds beyond the two included.
I primarily use PayPal as it's the most convenient for most clients. If you need to use an alternative method, just let me know.
Turnaround and revisions
Typically it takes 2 to 3 days from the day I receive your footage to deliver the first draft.
Larger or more complex projects will take longer, but I will always give you a clear timeline before we begin.
Yes, as a paid rush. The price depends on the project, my current workload, and when the footage is handed off.
If a project is too complex to be delivered in 24 hours, I'll let you know upfront.
Two rounds are included. Leave your notes on the Frame.io timeline at the exact moment you want a change and I'll send an updated version.
Gathering all your feedback in one pass per round gets you the most out of them.
Technical fixes (e.g: an export glitch, a missed cut, or a typo) never count against your revision rounds.
Your included revisions are strictly saved for your creative changes.
We can do as many rounds as you need to get the video exactly right.
Any rounds beyond the first two are simply billed separately and I will always confirm the cost with you before doing the extra work.
That's exactly what the first round of revisions is for.
The first draft acts as our baseline so just be as honest and specific as possible with your notes.
It is the easiest point to correct and dial in the exact style you're looking for.
Files and tools
Whatever's easiest for you:
- Google Drive
- Dropbox
- or WeTransfer.
In an organized Google Drive folder or the cloud provider of your choice.
I can use tracks you provide from your own licensed library. I'll always flag anything that might trigger a copyright claim.
If you don't want to deal with sourcing music I can handle the licensing for you as an optional add on.
I keep all raw files secure though I do occasionally feature final, published videos in my portfolio.
However, if your content is unreleased, internal, or sensitive, just let me know.
I am completely happy to sign an NDA and keep everything strictly confidential.
I retain ownership of the edit until your final invoice is paid. Once settled, full rights to the edited video automatically transfer to you.
The only exception is the music. If I handled the music licensing for you those audio tracks are licensed for your specific video rather than owned outright. I will provide you with all the necessary licensing documents so you are fully covered against any copyright claims.
